Let's talk about making positive changes in our communities! There are so many amazing ways we can come together and create the change we want to see. Remember - every action counts, no matter how small. While this journey takes dedication and energy, I'm excited to share some ways you can get involved, either solo or with your community!
We need to reduce consumption in general—it's a major issue across various niches & shopping trends. However, there's a powerful way you can protest through your spending habits. While not everyone can commit to a "No Buy Year," what about starting with just one day of buying nothing new? Two important No Buy Days are coming up: January 29th, 2025, and Black Friday during the holiday season. So, what impact does this kind of spending protest have?
Let’s Unpack the term DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) - it's far more significant than mere corporate terminology and it truly should not be used as a slur towards marginalized people! A lot of us are living within the horrific lens of anti-Blackness on a regular basis, but we do want to remind you that this is the month for you to start being a part of these conversations and learning and advocating for our community alongside us. There are so many ways that you can be supportive beyond these 28 days, but we do want you to take this time to make it your start so that you can make a difference and be more intentional about how you celebrate Black History Month and Black history and creatives all year long.
