Black creator tributes 2021

This portrait is of Iris (@limb_itless) • Instagram photos and videos, who is one of my favorite disabled black folk on Instagram! This is one of my favorite coords of hers, and it just goes to show that mobility aids go with any coord.

My personal project this year is to make portraits of the black creators and artists in the alternative fashion community that have inspired me. I’ve selected 10 artists so far and I hope to keep this series going for the rest of 2021. This was inspired by black history month, but as a white person with immense privilege I realize how important it is to uplift the voices of our community. My goal is to continue this throughout the entire year, in an attempt to show how many amazing black folks there are in this community and how they deserve to be uplifted every day/month of the year!
